    Thanks for the excellent explanation of the verb “piacere’. BTW, which one is more common in spoken Italian: “gli piace” (plural) and “a loro piace”?

  2. Eddie, both expressions are very common – from my experience of living in Italy for a year I would say “gli piace” is more common.
