38. Emergency: Call 118! (Intermediate)
April 29th, 2007

Learn intermediate level Italian with Podcasts! Today’s episode is about… how to deal with emergencies. Inspired by yet another feedback from one of our listeners — this time is Maria from England, today’s episode will show you how to ask for help in a emergency situation. This episode will complement and expand lesson 38 beginner level that was also dealing with emergencies. As we said already previously, we hope you’ll never need this lesson… but, as Maria says, “better safe than sorry, right?” — We agree, Maria.

That’s right until the morning when you wake up and… ouch! - a pipe from the kitchen sink is leaking, and on top of that the toilet is plugged! It’s definitely time to call plumber Lando to the rescue! Let’s learn how to call for assistance, get the pipe fixed, and be dry again. Enjoy!

34. Helping Jennifer (Intermediate)
March 4th, 2007

Learn Intermediate Level Italian with Podcasts! Jennifer, a student of Italian coming from Australia, has the opportunity to practice her Italian with Giovanni, a nice young gentleman that is trying to help her out. Today Professor Frison (aka Jane) will explain the grammar rule that in English is called “present perfect continuous”, the one we use to show that something started in the past and has continued up until now. Finally, we’ll wish “buona fortuna” to Jennifer, a very smart young lady that a year ago became one of the first LearnItalianPod subscribers - and after a few months of practice she felt she was ready to go to Italy to spend a year there studying Italian - and she’s doing it!

Phrasebook #1: Pronunciation & Problems
May 21st, 2006
We have been thinking for quite some time of a way to publish a comprehensive list of basic Italian phrases grouped by subject that anybody could use “as is” or as building blocks of a conversation. Using a very good online Italian Phrasebook as a starting point, we’re launching a new category that will give you the chance to learn, refine, and practice some must-know Italian words and phrases. Enjoy!
38. I Need Help!
May 14th, 2006

We all know that bad things, like good ones, sometimes just happen. What we can do is… to be prepared, just in case. In today’s episode, we are going learn and practice some useful sentences to use in case of emergencies. We hope you’ll never need this lesson, but, as the saying goes, “better safe than sorry”, right?
