33. Una Multa Indimenticabile (Culture Shot)
February 1st, 2009
Learn Italian with LearnItalianPod.com - Our friend and VIP subscriber Debra, born and raised in London, England, but now living in Italy, sent us a terrific and very funny email. She says: “A few days ago, I happened to read a very funny story entitled “Una Multa Indimenticabile” (Literally “Un Unforgettable Fine”). Sometimes, excuses that people make up in order to avoid responsibilities have no limits, but this… what a story! I’m still laughing hard! And the moment I read the story, I just said to myself: “This is a perfect podcast episode for LearnItalianPod.com”! - Yes it is, Debra! So, let’s dedicate this week’s Culture Shot to this funny (but real!) story, and let’s learn and practice some super common and useful Italian idiomatic expressions. Enjoy!
Culture Shot - Episode Nr.33

May 27th, 2007

Our two friends and listeners Debbie and Antonio are back from Italy. They say: “We loved our trip and everything was great - except for when we had to… park our car! Is it really that difficult to find a parking space in Italy?” — Truth to be told, it can be quite an adventure, but fear no more, LearnItalianPod is here to help! Let’s learn a few things about driving thru a congested Italian city, and while doing so, let’s review and practice some important grammar constructions, like “frasi al negativo”, negative sentences. Enjoy!

The surprise is great, except that Lucia is not very happy about Renzo’s car: she thinks it’s a “catorcio” (a lemon)… Let’s see what happens, and in the meantime let’s learn some very common colloquial Italian expressions. Have fun!

November 19th, 2006

Today you are going to learn everything (well, almost…) you need to know in order to rent a car in Italy, if you ever feel adventurous enough to drive, while there… You do know that Italians have a terrible reputation as car drivers, right? And what if you do not feel like driving? Well, you can always take a train… Enjoy!
