What Is Podcasting?
Podcasting is a subscription method for publishing audio files (typically MP3 audio) published in a way that allows subscribers to receive an automatic notification that new shows are available, automatically downloading them to a computer and transferring the podcasts to a portable media player. This is comparable to having on demand cable, with the cable box automatically downloading new shows as they become available.

Why is called Podcasting?
The name comes from iPod and broadcasting, which has managed to cause confusion because an iPod is not needed to listen to podcasts. Regardless the name has stuck.

Do I need an iPod to listen to the podcasts?
No. Because podcasts are typically saved in MP3 format, they can also be listened to on most portable media devices and nearly any computer.

Do I have to pay to listen to the podcasts?
No. LearnItalianPod podcasts are free for users to listen and download. We are currently working on a paid Premium service subscription that will include transcripts and assignments. It will be free to try.

What equipment do I need to start listening to podcasts?
You don’t really need anything, other than a computer and a internet connection. But to truly enjoy the podcast revolution you better have some podcast software, that let you subscribe to and manage podcasts, and a mp3 player, that lets you take podcasts with you anywhere, and listen to it at anytime you want.

Where can I download Podcast software?
Here’s some Podcast software for you to download and try.

1) Juice - (formerly iPodder) Lets users select and download shows and music and to play whenever they want on their iPods, portable digital media players, or computers automatically.

2) Doppler - Doppler is a podcast aggregator. It’s a tool to subscribe to RSS feeds which supply downloadable files. Doppler will go out and fetch the files enclosed in the RSS feed and will automatically add them to your preferred media player.

3) iTunes - Want to listen to your favorite radio shows and audio programs anytime? Just subscribe to the podcasts you want and iTunes takes care of the rest. Updates occur automatically. Podcasts sync to your iPod as soon as you dock it.

How can I add LearnItalianPod to my iTunes?
With the release of the latest version of iTunes, LearnItalianPod podcasts can be automatically downloaded into your iTunes, by just left-clicking on the iTunes button on the right-hand sidebar of this webpage and your iTunes will automatically open up and ask you to confirm your subscription.

How do I download files to my computer?
To download the files to your computer, just right-click on the format type (PDF or MP3), and choose “Save Target As…” (Internet Explorer) or “Save Link As…” (Firefox, Netscape).

Billing Issues

Is the $ 14.95 subscription fee a one time fee, or is it a monthly fee?
The $14.95 is a monthly subscription fee, and the subscription is automatically renewed every month, until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time - no question asked, no contracts of any sort.

How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time, by doing one of the following:

a) Login to your LearnItalianPod.com account, go to “Your Membership Information” (by clicking “My Account” link on the right-hand navigation), click the “Cancel” subscription link to cancel your subscription’s automatic renewal.

b) If you have subscribed using PayPal, you can also login to your PayPal account, look for the payment transaction receipt, find the link to transaction details and click the button “Cancel Subscription”.

c) If you want to save time, just send us an email containing the email address you’ve used at sign-up time, and we’ll cancel your subscription in matters of hours (if not minutes).

Please note that LearnItalianPod.com reserves the right to cancel any subscriptions at any time.

What is your refund policy?
Refund Policy - If you intend to cancel your subscription, please make sure you cancel (using one of the three ways described above) BEFORE the date your membership is automatically renewed. Due to administrative costs, we cannot honor refund requests made after renewal’s date.

Does the “VIP Membership 100% Satisfaction Guarantee” apply to everyone?
Our “Ironclad, Unconditional, Nothing to Lose, 100% Satisfaction Guarantee” applies to first-time VIP Membership subscribers only.

I am very interested in subscribing, but I don’t live in the US and don’t have a US dollar account. Can you deduct a charge in different currencies?
From PayPal’s website: you can buy globally with PayPal’s Multiple Currencies feature.

Use your current PayPal account to make or accept payments in: Canadian Dollar, Euro, Pound Sterling, U.S. Dollar, Yen, Australian Dollar, New Zealand Dollar, Swiss Franc, Hong Kong Dollar, Singapore Dollar, Swedish Krona, Danish Krone, Norwegian Krone, Hungarian Forint, Czech Koruna.
