Learn Italian with LearnItalianPod.com! Episode #6 of the new Upper Intermediate Level Series” is entitled “What Do You Mean He’s Not Here?”. Our hero Italo has finally arrived to his important business appointment. Unfortunately an unexpected and unpleasant surprise awaits him… - Today we are going to learn some useful sentences and vocabulary that you can use in real life situations when something unexpected happens. We’re also going to shed some light on the verbs “sapere” and “conoscere”, which have the same translation (to know), but they are used with different meanings. The Holidays are upon us and, to get you into the spirit of things, we would love to dedicate today’s episode to one of the “all time” symbols of kindness and generosity — and that is, Babbo Natale! We are going to celebrate Babbo Natale (Santa Claus in English) with a couple of lovely Italian filastrocche (in English, “nursery rhymes”) which have been around forever and which - you can bet on it - every little kid in Italy knows. - Last but not least… Jane & Massimo wish to all of you a very Happy and Merry Holiday Season; from the bottom of our hearts, thanks to each one of you for your incredible support. Italo, the protagonist of this series, has finally arrived in Venice. It’s 1:00 PM and his business meeting is two hours away. Italo is starving and decides to stop at a bar to grab a bite to eat before going to the meeting. Today we are going to learn some more sentences and vocabulary useful while ordering food and drinks at an Italian bar. You’ll hear a lot of informal, “everyday” Italian in this dialogue, so pay attention, because if you’ll ever go to Italy, that’s the way your “barista” will talk to you!
