Learn intermediate level Italian with LearnItalianPod! In today’s episode we will talk about… music, concerts and Italian singers. We’ll listen to a phone conversation beetwen two friends, Maria and Antonio. Maria says one of her favorite artists, Andrea Bocelli, is holding a concert in Milan, and she wants to go! Antonio loves Bocelli too - so he’s rushing online to reserve two tickets. We’ll learn a few useful expressions you can use while dealing with phone conversations and we’ll review and practice conjunctions. Enjoy!

vi ringrazio x questa oppurtunità…

Io mi chiamo Konstanty. Io ascolto a Learn Italian Pod ogni giorno, ed ho imparato alcuni italiani quando arrivato di qua. Io sono di Polonia ma io abito negli Stati Uniti ( Long Island) . Quando io sono arrivato negli USA io ho dovuto imparare l’inglese. Adesso io voglio a imparare l’italiano xchè mio fratello viverà a Torino. Sono 3 mesi che io studio l’italiano.

Cmq io ho molte domande ……

per esempio….

quando io dico “mi manchi “, significa ” I miss you ” …. io sono confuso…. non significa ” you miss me ” ?

la mia domanda..posso dire ” ti manco “?

e cm si dice ” I miss you all “, mi mancate ” , o ” vi manco” ? …xchè ti amo = I love you …aiutami lol !!!!

un’ altra domanda …. quando io devo usare ” da ” e ” di ” ? per esempio ” io sono di Italia ” e ” l’aereo parte da Venezia ” io ho bisogno una chiara la spiegazione.

You all are doing a great Job!! I l really like how you use the colloquial parts too because having to learn a new language you really have to understand what people are saying so knowing these expressions is vital. lol I am not sure how my italian above is but I would like to hear how I am doing.

Konstanty, about “mi manchi” - it’s just the way Italian language works. The English “I miss you” is translated with “mi manchi”.

You can say “ti manco?” as a question to somebody you know very well (relative, family, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc.). The question means “do you miss me?”.

“I miss you all” is “mi mancate tutti”.

About “da” and “di” - there’s really no clear explanation - Italian prepositions can be tricky! It’s the practice and the use of the language that will train the ear to recognize the right particle.

Could you explain the use of ‘ne’ in the expression ‘ a comprarne due’?

Marvin, “comprarne” is formed by “comprare” + “ne”. In this case “ne” means “of it”. So it would translate as “to buy two (of it)”.
