Incredibile, ma mi dispiace di aver ascoltato questa lezione. Stasera sono arrivato a casa e ho trovato un tubo bloccato sotto la casa – penso che si puo’ dire sotto la casa invece di, fuori della casa, no? Ho chiamato il idraulico e lui vieni domani.

Come sempre, grazie della lezione ma stasera sono irritato.

l’idraulico!!, i’m glad i’m not going to deal with it in italy. The university will! , hope so!..comunque, come si dici in italiano “about”?!..

Hello Dante! Here’s about “about”

As an adverb, with the meaning of “approximately”, you say “circa”. Ex: “erano circa a dieci metri” - “they were about ten meters away”.

In one of your replies above you use the word ‘erano’. What is the verb for this word? (the complete sentence is ‘erano circa a dieci metri.’)

Marvin, that’s the verb “essere” (to be), imperfect tense.
Io ero, tu eri, lui/lei era, noi eravamo, voi eravate, loro erano. So the sentence would be “they were more or less ten meters away”.

Di solito, si deve usare l’imperfetto quando si dice “credo che…”?
