You do know Italians love soccer as much as they hate traffic (well, everybody hates traffic, right?), so they just found a colorful way to have a little fun with the game they love while stuck on the freeway. Dante, it’s not strange at all to play soccer on the street - in Italy everybody does that… What’s unusual is to play soccer in the middle of the… “autostrada”!

Ho una domanda.
Quando Massimo legge la storia, io odo: “…danno vita a una partita di calcio” ma quando Jane legge, io odo: “…danno vita d’ una partita di calcio”. C’e differenza infatti o devo andare a medico di orecchio?

Gabor, It’s actually both “danno vita a una partita” and “danno vita ad una partita”. Both sentences are correct.

The letter”d” between “a” and “u” (both vowels) it’s a common way to make a better connection between two vowels.

Other example:
“ho chiesto a un amico” - I asked to a friend
“ho chiesto ad un amico” - I asked to a friend
