26. I Would Buy A Ferrari (Intermediate)
October 29th, 2006

Learn Italian Language with Podcasts! Today we are going to finish what we have started a couple of weeks ago. Then, we have introduced the expression “se io fossi” (if I were); today, we are going to learn more about hypothetical sentences, and how to use the subjunctive and the conditional together. It’s not easy, be warned! While doing so, Jane is telling us about her dream of living in a villa in Tuscany, and Massimo about his dream of buying a Ferrari. Enjoy!

48. Before & After
October 22nd, 2006

Learn Italian with Podcasts! Today we are going to learn how to use the words “prima” (before), and “dopo” (after), and in doing so we’ll find out what our two friends are going to do right before leaving Italy after a two weeks vacation. There’s a lot to do: prepare the luggage, buy postcards, confirm the flight, and eat one last delicious Italian ice cream. Enjoy!
25. If I Were Rich… (Intermediate)
October 15th, 2006

Learn Italian Language with Podcasts! Here’s Massimo on a typical case of “Sunday night blues”. He doesn’t feel like going to work tomorrow, he whines a little, and says “Se fossi ricco…” (If I were rich…). Even if you love what you’re doing, as Massimo does, don’t tell us you never had a “Sunday night blues” episode. We will not believe you. Let’s see how Jane shuts up the whiner (Massimo), let’s learn the typical Italian expression “c’e’ chi sta peggio”, and let’s review the use of subjunctive mood on hypothetical sentences. Enjoy!

47. My Arms Fall Down
October 8th, 2006

Let’s learn one of the most used typical Italian expressions - that’s “far cadere le braccia” (literally: make arms fall down) while finding out how Massimo is doing with his new girlfriend, Sara. Things are definitely not looking good: he says everytime she opens her mouth, his arms fall down… uhm, no, not a good sign! We’ll also review and practice “come va con…” (how is it going with…), a very common way of asking people about things they are doing. Enjoy!
24. Let’s Toast! (Intermediate)
October 1st, 2006

Learn Italian Language with Podcasts! Somebody once said: “Wine makes every meal an occasion, every table more elegant, every day more civilized.” Tonight she’s cooking, and she invited him over for dinner. He’s bringing wine, white Verdicchio because she likes it, and red Barolo because it goes with the meat. The evening sounds promising: let’s open a bottle, and let’s toast to a good time spent with a friend! And while having fun, let’s learn how to use the indirect object pronouns.
